All the talk about this Richard III will be about Martin Freeman. It's unavoidable really. Well-known television star takes on one of the big Shakespearean roles and a role outside what might be seen as his comfort zone. Any review therefore will need to confront this head on.

Gina McKee (Di & Viv & Rose, King Lear, Ivanov, Our Friends In The North, Notting Hill) plays Queen Elizabeth, alongside the previously announced Martin Freeman (Clybourne Park, The Hobbit, Sherlock, Fargo) as Richard III in Jamie Lloyd's first production of his second season at Trafalgar Transformed, Richard III, running through 27 September, with press night on 8 July. Ruth Wilson stars in the London premiere of The El. Train: three one-act plays by Eugene O'Neill (The Web, Before Breakfast and The Dreamy Kid). The plays, written between 1913 and 1918, are being presented together for the first time. Ruth acts in The Web and Before Breakfast, directed by Sam Yates, and makes her directorial debut with The Dreamy Kid. Combining live music with immersive design, all housed in the intimate setting of Grade II listed Hoxton Hall (built 1863, seating an audience of 125), The El. Don Warrington & Dona Croll to Star in ALL MY SONS at Talawa Theatre; Full Cast Announced
This autumn Talawa Theatre Company and the Royal Exchange Theatre will present a major revival of ALL MY SONS by Arthur Miller. The production will star two of the country's most distinguished actors - Don Warrington MBE (RISING DAMP, DEATH IN PARADISE) as Joe and Doña Croll (CASUALTY, DOCTORS) as Kate, and will run from Wednesday 25 September to Saturday 26 October 2013.
