SIERRA BLANCO (AEA) made her Off-Broadway debut with Theatre de la Ville in Six Characters in Search of an Author at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) as part of the Next Wave Festival. She has performed comedy skits with Asif Mandvi and Bill Nye for Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show, and with Stephen Colbert -opening The Late Show. She has enjoyed performing in several student films, as well as in the lead (Charlotte) for the independent film Biff and Me directed by Nicola Rose. She is represented by Bonnie Shumofsky Bloom of Stewart Talent. Sierra is an award winning playwright and composer, having won Stephen Sondheim's National Young Playwright's Competition, David Letterman's Worldwide Plays Competition, and the NYC Write-A-Play! Competition. She was twice an invited guest playwright at the Eugene O'Neill Young Playwright's Conference at the National Theater Institute. Sierra was a finalist with the Andrew Lloyd Webber Training Initiative Scholarship, and a Finalist with the NEA/American Theatre Wing Musical Theater Songwriting Challenge as well as a recipient for the Michael Perelstein Discover Your Passion Scholarship for Playwriting and Musical Theater Composition. Her poetry has been published in the New York Times Metropolitan Diary, and her play Bang! published in a Decade of Shared Stories. Sierra, a member of the Dramatists Guild, Actors Equity Association and MENSA is a BMI Affiliate Artist for songwriting., Sierra attended a NYC public school for gifted learners.
