Originally, from Adrian, MI, Shonn started performing at six when his father put him in dance classes. Immediately Shonn was hooked. It was at The Historic Croswell Opera House that his passion for performing was born. Upon graduation from high school, Shonn was already a seasoned entertainer, having been in over 50 musicals. He made his Broadway debut in the Tony Award-Winning revival of 42ND STREET (Ford Center) where he performed the opening number for the Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall. Shonn later returned to the Broadway stage In Frank Wildhorn's DRACULA, The Musical (Belasco). Other NYC credits include: Junior Dolan in ON YOUR TOES (Encores!), John Trainor in NO NO, NANETTE (Encores!), Jack Donahue in MY VAUDEVILLE MAN (The York Theatre), Richard Loeb in THRILL ME (The York Theatre), Understudying and performing the title character in CANDIDE at New York City Opera, STAIRWAY TO PARADISE co-starring Kristin Chenoweth (Encores!), THE VIEW FROM HERE (NYMF). Shonn starred in the Chicago cast of the Tony Award Winning Broadway Musical, JERSEY BOYS as Bob Gaudio where he performed on the final season of THE OPRAH SHOW.
After the final curtain came down on Jersey Boys in Chicago, Shonn and his castmates formed the retro rock n' roll vocal group, UNDER THE STREETLAMP. This fraternity of performers breathes new life into your favorite Doo Wop, Motown, and old-time Rock N' Roll hits. Streetlamp's unique blend of tight harmonies and slick dance moves make it impossible to resist the urge to sing and dance along to all your favorites from the early days of radio.
Under The Streetlamp: Live, was filmed in 2011 and debuted on PBS across America in the spring of 2012. Word started to travel to PBS stations around the country that LIVE!, was a hit. Streetlamp followed up with PBS specials, Under The Streetlamp: Let The Good Times Roll (2013), Under The Streetlamp: Rockin' Round The Clock (2016). and the docu-series, Harmonies For Healing: Under The Streetlamp (2016). They released their first studio album, Hip to the Holidays in 2018, and the compilation album The Hits: LIVE! in 2019.
Streetlamp has been privileged to open the season at the famed Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, was part of the inaugural season at The Smith Center in Las Vegas, hopped across the pond to tour In Europe (The Netherlands and Belgium), opened for the legendary Temptations, and spent time in the recording studio with Carl Giammarese of The Buckinghams and Marshall Thompson, founder of the Chi-Lites.
As a Choreographer, Shonn received a Lucille Lortel award nomination, as well as a Drama Desk award nomination for outstanding choreography for MY VAUDEVILLE MAN (The York Theatre). other choreography projects: Come Dance With Me, Sweeney Todd and Pool Boy (Barrington Stage), The View From Here (NYMF), Music Man and Forever Plaid (Croswell). Shonn served as the choreographer for all three Under the Streetlamp PBS special and as director and choreographer for Harmonies For Healing..
TV & Movies: TINY DANCER directed by Eva Husson with Melissa Fumero, Gina Rodriguez, and Josh Segurra, CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC starring Isla Fisher, and the development of the series, CODE NAME: TELEFORCE. Guest stars on ALL MY CHILDREN and GUIDING LIGHT, and appearances on LATE NIGHT WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, ACCESS HOLLYWOOD, and EXTRA!

Shonn is the recipient of the Adelyne Roth Levine Memorial Award in Acting and the Thomas Auclair Memorial Scholarship Award. He holds a BFA in drama from Carnegie Mellon University
