Runway Theatre's first production of the new decade is a throw-back to the 50's with the southern-sweet-tea charmer Seeing Stars in Dixie by Ron Osborne. Directed by Mike Hathaway, it runs for three weekends and includes a special Valentine's Day performance with complimentary chocolates, champagne, and prize drawings. Rover Dramawerks continues their 18th Season with the classic comedy Charley's Aunt by Brandon Thomas. Performances will be at Rover's theatre in Plano, located in Ruisseau Village at 221 W. Parker Rd, Suite 580, at the northwest corner of Parker and 75. Performances run September 13-29 on Thursdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. and on Saturdays at 3:00 and 8:00 p.m.
BWW Review: CALENDAR GIRLS at MainStage Irving-Las Colinas
Everyone has those friends who have been with you through thick and thin, who know your ins and outs and for whom you'd do pretty much anything. Lon Barrera, in his Director's notes for MainStage Irving-Las Colinas' latest show CALENDAR GIRLS, calls them "framily," and this play is about the meaning of friendship and just how far you would go for those people in your circle.

MainStage Irving-Las Colinas will continue its 2016-17 Razzle Dazzle season with the Tim Firth comedy CALENDAR GIRLS. The production runs March 17 through April 1, 2017, at the Irving Arts Center's Dupree Theater (3333 N. MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75062). TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD Opens September 9th at Firehouse
Next up - To Kill A Mockingbird - opens September 9th and runs through the 25th, with preview set for September 8th. The novel, written by Harper Lee, was published in 1960. In the play, adapted by Christopher Sergel, Scout, a young girl in a quiet southern town, is about to experience the dramatic events that will affect the rest of her life. She and her brother, Jem, are being raised by their widowed father, Atticus, and by a strongminded housekeeper, Calpurnia. Wide-eyed Scout is fascinated with the sensitively revealed people of her small town, but, from the start, there's a rumble of thunder just under the calm surface of the life there. The Firehouse Theatre is excited to present this cherished but timely tale.

MBS Productions presents a World Premiere of the Roman tragedy from circa 90 AD. It is the true story of Octavia and Nero and their doomed relationship. Octavia was Nero's first wife. Though she is in love with the very young Nero, she discovers that her spouse was complicit in the death of her brother Brittanicus who should have inherited the throne. To complicate matters further Nero has fallen out of love with her and wishes to pursue a different relationship. If she agrees to divorce him she will lose all her power over Rome.
