Cinemalive Presents Charles Dickens' Classic Festive Tale A CHRISTMAS CAROL
Following three critically-acclaimed, sold-out seasons on stage in London's West End, Simon Callow (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Shakespeare in Love) brings Charles Dickens' beloved classic A Christmas Carol to the big screen in December 2018. On Tuesday 11 December the stage-to-film adaptation, reimagined especially for cinema, will be released in 444 cinemas across the UK and Ireland by leading event cinema distributors CinemaLive.

The contenders are Peter Whitebrook for John Osborne Anger is not about..., James Shapiro for 1606 William Shakespeare and the Year of Lear, David Hare for The Blue Touch Paper, Qais Akbar Omar and Stephen Landrigan for A Night in the Emperor's Garden and Michael Pennington for Let Me Play The Lion/How to Be an Actor.
James & Jack Fox to Lead West End Transfer of DEAR LUPIN
Father and son James Fox and Jack Fox star in this brand new stage adaptation of the best-selling Sunday Times Humour Book of the Year Dear Lupin, Letters to a Wayward Son in which renowned journalist and author Roger Mortimer's brilliantly hilarious, often touching and always generous letters to his unruly son Charlie are now vividly brought to life. The production transfers to the Apollo Theatre following a successful UK tour, opening on 3 August, with previews from 30 July, and runs for a strictly limited season until 19 September.

The shortlist is announced today for the eighth annual Sheridan Morley Prize for Theatre Biography - the nominees are Tennessee Williams: Mad Pilgrimage of the Flesh by John Lahr, Our Time of Day: My Life with Corin Redgrave by Kika Markham, What do I Know?: People, Politics and the Arts by Richard Eyre, Covering Shakespeare by David Weston and I Know Nothing: The Autobiography by Andrew Sachs.

The eighth annual Sheridan Morley Prize for Theatre Biography ceremony will be held on 19 March 2015 at The Garrick Club. The prize awarded for the best biography, autobiography or diary in theatre or show business was last year won by Michael Blakemore for Stage Blood.
