Francis Jeffery Dickens arrives in Canada in 1874 with all the prejudices and presumptions of a white colonist/settler. After serving 11 years as a member of the North West Mounted Police, Frank is horrified by the mendacity and theft that robbed the Indigenous Peoples of their lands. He learns to respect the traditions and wisdom of First Nations culture and begins to understand the urgent need to live in harmony with Mother Nature.

Every year Infinitheatre proudly presents Quebec's newest discoveries in The Pipeline, an annual series of free public play readings where the audience takes centre stage, offering valuable feedback that furthers script development and helps choose future seasons. The Pipeline is three plays in three days-including The Kevin, first place winner from Infinitheatre's annual Write-On-Q! script writing competition, boasting the largest English literary prize in Quebec. The playwrights will be in attendance.

The Montreal English Theatre Awards celebrated it's 6th Awards Ceremony in one of the city's most beautiful and historic theatres, the Ludger-Duvernay, made possible by a new partnership with the National Theatre School of Canada and its theatre venue, the Monument-National. Infinithéâtre/McGill University Presents Shakespeare's Sonnets At Moyse Hall
Infinitheatre, presented by McGill Department of English in collaboration with Early Modern Conversions Project-Shakespeare's Sonnets: Transforming the Voices of Montreal. Along with live music and video, see the sonnets like never before; contemporary, urban and conversational. Fall in love with the universal themes of life, love and death, or be smitten all over again. Directed by Infinitheatre Artistic Director Guy Sprung, along with Mask Master Brian Smith, the show runs for one week only, October 22-27, at the beautiful Moyse Hall theatre in McGill University's Arts Building. There will be post-show artist talks after each performance.
The METAs Announce Nominees For The 2017-18 Season
At a community and media event held at the Monument-National's cafe on Thursday September 6th, The Montreal English Theatre Awards Committee announced the nominees for this year's Awards Ceremony. The Montreal English Theatre Awards (METAs) recognize and celebrate outstanding artistic work in Montreal's English Theatre. Established in 2012, the peer-juried awards exist to promote professional and emerging English theatre artists and companies, to heighten their visibility both regionally and beyond, and to elevate the level of critical discourse about theatre in Montreal amongst artists and with the community at large.
Epic Play FIGHT ON! Comes to Infinitheatre at Espace Knox
Fostering Infinitheatre's ongoing mandate of reflecting and exploring life in the 21st century, Artistic Director Guy Sprung examines Canada's ignoble past in this first part of the creative development of Fight On!, playing from April 10-22 at Espace Knox. This cross-cultural, multilingual, meta-Brechtian romp set during the late 19th century is the company's most ambitious production to date; incorporating masks, multimedia, dance, buffoonery, and authentic, embarrassing historical pronouncements. Fight On! Part 1 will be performed mainly in English, with significant characters speaking French, Cree, and Mohawk, with English surtitles. There will be talkbacks after each performance, plus invited guests on Thursdays. Trigger warning: satirical colonial views might cause self-conscious laughter.
