Elizabeth Irwin's SUPPORT Comes to A.R.T. New York This Month
A workshop production of Support written by Elizabeth Irwin (My Mañana Comes), directed by Kate Bergstrom (Is Edward Snowden Single?), and produced by Erin Daley and Elizabeth Irwin with support from On The Verge Repertory Theater will begin previews April 26, 2023 with an opening night set for May 4, 2023 for a limited run through May 20, 2023.

Directed by Whitney White (What to Send Up When It Goes Down), Ashton's play is a feverish inquiry and exposé. In it, multigenerational African diasporic voices gather around a woman, Joy. With Ashton's trenchant, irreverent, and lyrical writing, Soho Rep. continues its tradition of presenting works by playwrights whose experimentation with language, social commentary, and piercing wit turn the theater into a space that brims with possibility and danger.
A SOULFUL MUSIC CELEBRATION Returns To Aaron Davis Hall
A moving voyage through the sounds of the Black American experience returns to Aaron Davis Hall as City College Center for the Arts (CCCA) presents "A Soulful Music Celebration" on Saturday, April 6, at 3 p.m. The event, featuring Marvin Lowe and Friends and narrated by Obie-award winning actress Barbara Montgomery will take audiences on a journey through the music created by Africans and African-Americans in response to their trials and triumphs over the centuries. The soulful trek also seeks to inspire contemporary listeners to use their own voices to create change and help unite all people in these trying times.
BOARDWALK EMPIRE's Johnnie Mae Joins Staged Reading Of THE TALK
Award winning actress Johnnie Mae, who played the role of housekeeper Louann Pratt in season one of the Martin Scorsese produced Boardwalk Empire on HBO, has joined the cast of the staged reading of Janice Liddell's drama The Talk, an installment in the Frank Silvera Writers Workshop monthly reading series in partnership with The Billie Holiday Theatre.

After its hit premiere at the Humana Festival of New Plays and a critically lauded Off Broadway production, playwright and actor Colman Domingo's comedy-drama DOT will open to audiences in Baltimore at Everyman Theatre. Directed by Founding Artistic Director Vincent M. Lancisi, the production features acclaimed actress Sharon Hope in the title role of Dotty, joined by Resident Company members Megan Anderson and Dawn Ursula. It will run from December 7, 2016 to January 8, 2017.
