Photo Flash: Civic Theatre of Allentown Hosts 6th Annual Tonys & Tapas Celebration
On Sunday, June 12, 2016, Civic Theatre of Allentown hosted its 6th annual Tonys & Tapas celebration. The event raised over $25,000 for Civic Theatre and had nearly 100 attendees. The event also served to officially unveil Civic's new logo in preparation for its 89th season. Sharon Glassman, Board President, stated in her welcome, "This evening, Broadway celebrates its best and brightest of the 2016 season by honoring each winner with the prestigious Antoinette Perry Award, thereby assuring these performers a place in theatre history. This afternoon, we not only celebrate those awardees, but also the inimitable magic that the theatre brings into each of our lives."
Civic Theatre Welcomes New Managing Director John Hedges
Civic Theatre is pleased to announce the hiring of new Managing Director, John Hedges. As managing director, Hedges will be responsible for all business operations of Civic Theatre including supervision of the administrative staff, overseeing programs, operations and budget, and long-range and annual planning.
2015 Ovation Award Winners Announced
The Allentown Arts Commission and the City of Allentown will celebrate the extraordinary impact of the arts on Allentown and the broader Lehigh Valley community when it presents the 27th Annual Allentown Arts Ovation Awards in a revitalized and re-imagined ceremony, Thursday, May 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. After moving to the Palace Center on the east side of Allentown for the last several years, the ceremony returns to Allentown's City Center to the Renaissance Hotel at PPL Center - which in itself has become an epicenter for the revitalized downtown.
