Gabriella Garbarini Wins NSAL Local Ballet Competition, Advances to Nationals
The National Society of Arts & Letters Florida East Coast Chapter recently held their ballet competition at Boca Ballet Theatre. The competition showcased the talents of an array of young dancers from South Florida, who were judged by an esteemed panel including Clarence Brooks, Shimon Ito and Colleen Smith.
NSAL Has Announced Musical Theatre Competition Applications
The National Society of Arts and Letters Florida East Coast Chapter recently unveiled their new website (www.nsalfloridaeast.org) featuring the 2020 competition and scholarship applications. This year's key National competition is in musical theatre and local applicants can apply now for a chance to win $2,000 plus an all-expense paid trip to Chicago to compete for a $15,000 first prize. Additionally, applications are now open for a Piano and Strings Duo competition along with the Naomi Rabb Winston 2-D Art Scholarship and the Shirley Rabb Winston Classical Voice scholarship. All criteria, rules and application deadlines are on the website.

This second iteration of last year's audience favorite will pick up where the previous show left off, with more songs, anecdotes, and stories, and will highlight the works of Marvin Hamlisch, Kander & Ebb, Dorothy Fields, George & Ira Gershwin, Jerry Herman, and many more. To Life 2 will run in the Willow Theatre in Sugar Sand Park from January 10th through February 2nd.
