New production photos have been released for Nica Burns’ world premiere production of Brokeback Mountain, as the show enters its final three weeks of performances, running @sohoplace theatre until 12 August 2023.

A brand new song has been released from the world premiere stage adaptation of Annie Proulx’s short story, Brokeback Mountain, a new play with music. In the video, Eddi Reader sings ‘Sharing Your Heart’. This is the moment where Alma (played by Emily Fairn) realises that her husband, Ennis Del Mar (played by Lucas Hedges), also loves another.

The Personal History of David Copperfield leads the list of nominations for the 2019 British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs), announced this morning by British actors Naomi Ackie and Joe Cole at the Regent Street Cinema. Armando Iannucci's fresh take on Dickens' novel about the ups and downs in the life of its eponymous character is recognised for Best British Independent Film and Best Screenplay sponsored by BBC Films, amongst nine other awards. Dev Patel is nominated for Best Actor, with co-stars Tilda Swinton and Hugh Laurie competing in the respective Supporting categories. The film also features heavily in the technical categories with nominations for Best Casting sponsored by Casting Society of America & Spotlight, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Editing sponsored by Intermission Film, Best Make Up & Hair Design sponsored by MAC Cosmetics and Best Production Design sponsored by Studio Juice.
Open Door Opens Applications For 2019-2020, Including Three New Locations

Non-profit organisation Open Door has opened applications for its 2019-2020 Acting and Backstage courses, as well as three new programmes in Essex, Sheffield and Rotherham, to go alongside its existing courses in London and the East Midlands. The organisation has also announced Open Door Ignite a?" a brand new programme of free Q&A events available to the public to be held around the UK, with a prestigious line up of industry professionals, from actors including Vicky McClure (Line of Duty, This is England) and Joe Dempsie (Game of Thrones; Skins), to writers including Vinay Patel (Murdered by My Father, BBC 3; An Adventure, Bush Theatre) and writer/producer Bryan Elsbury (co-creator of E4 Skins) to casting directors including Shaheen Baig (Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror, Control, 28 Days Later, Notes on a Scandal) and agents from the leading acting agencies in the country.
