First Annual Philadelphia One-Minute Play Festival Kicks Off Today
InterAct Theatre Company and the New York based company, The One-Minute Play Festival (OMPF) today announce their joint presentation of the First Philadelphia One-Minute Play Festival, to be performed tonight, July 29th-31st 2013 at 8:00 PM EST. Following sold-out performances in a dozen other cities, this festival serves as the culmination of a yearlong collaboration between the two companies after engaging in community and consensus building workshop sessions with local artists since August of 2012.

4th Annual SoLow Festival Set for June 20-30
With works that celebrate the solstice to performances inside a Chinese Restaurant, the 4th annual SoLow Festival is experimenting with the theme of "Loners and Rebels." SoLow Festival is an inexpensive artistic event dedicated to presenting new and experimental work in a collective manner. With over twenty performing artists June 20th to 30th, SoLow focuses on the artistic creation and growth of solo artists conceiving new work with low or no-cost risk. The productions will be presented at a variety of non-traditional venues throughout the city (and one in Cincinnati, OH). Audiences and artists are invited to experience the original, unique, and experimental of SoLow Festival with affordable Pay What You Can performances.

These questions and other dilemmas lie at the heart of InterAct Theatre Company's second show of its 25th Anniversary Season. Assassin by local playwright David Robson, a co-production with Act II Playhouse, takes an intimate look at hero worship, regret and forgiveness while examining America's fascination with sports violence. With recent media attention being paid to football related injuries, past and present, Assassin is particularly relevant.

Lantern Theater Extends NEW JERUSALEM thru 9/30
Lantern Theater Company announces a one-week extension of its successful remount of New Jerusalem, The Interrogation of Baruch de Spinoza at Talmud Torah Congregation: Amsterdam, July 27, 1656 by award-winning playwright David Ives and directed by Lantern Artistic Director Charles McMahon. New Jerusalem will now run through September 30, 2012.

Lantern Theater Company will open its 2012/13 season with a pair of plays by David Ives: The Liar, an adaptation of the French comedy classic by Pierre Corneille, and a limited return engagement of New Jerusalem, The Interrogation of Baruch de Spinoza at Talmud Torah Congregation: Amsterdam, July 27, 1656, which last fall played to sold out houses and was extended twice to meet demand, quickly becoming the best-selling production in the Lantern's history.
