Sara Toby Moore to Star in ATOMIC COMIC at Z Space Beginning Next Month
ATOMIC COMIC - A Human Cartoon Fantasia, written by and starring Sara Toby Moore will be performed beginning Friday, June 30, 2023, with an opening night scheduled for Saturday, July 1. Additional performances will be on July 6, 7, and 8, 2023 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) All shows will be at 8:00 pm.
Berkeley Rep's THE GROUND FLOOR Returns
This morning, Berkeley Rep's Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer announced the return of The Ground Floor: Berkeley Rep's Center for the Creation and Development of New Work. Thirteen projects from 29 talented artists across the Bay Area have been selected for its Summer Residency Lab.
A.C.T.'s The Strand Hosts PianoFight's ShortLived VIII Finals
For the first time in its 12-year history, the San Francisco-based PianoFight will present The Finals of the nation's largest, audience-judged theater competition, ShortLived VIII, at American Conservatory Theater's Strand Theater. The Finals' performances at The Strand will wrap up a nine week competition, featuring over 200 Bay Area artists creating 48 world premiere plays, staged for over 2,000 audience members who score each production. The group that scores the highest at the end of The Finals will be crowned the ShortLived VIII champion and awarded a $5,000 cash prize.

EXIT Theatre Wins BATCC Award for 30 Years of Bay Area Theatre
On May 6, EXIT Theatre received yet another award, this one from the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle. At their Gala awards ceremony, BATCC honored the blood, toil, tears and sweat behind EXIT - Artistic Director Christina Augello and Managing Director Richard Livingston - with the Paine Knickerbocker Award 'for continuing contribution to Bay Area theatre.'
