Theatre Bay Area and the RHE Charitable Foundation have announced Rolanda D. Bell as the 2023 RHE Foundation Artistic Fellow. Bell was introduced as the awardee on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Theatre Bay Area’s TBAConnect: A Fall Conference for Creatives.

Emergency Rally “Catch Up, California: Bay Area for SB 1116” Asks State Senate to Reverse Devastating Arts Underfunding

A coalition of Bay Area performing artists are holding an emergency rally, Catch Up, California: Bay Area for SB 1116, on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Bayfront Theatre in San Francisco. Senate Bill 1116, which was signed into law by Governor Newsom last year, establishes the Equitable Payroll Fund for the nonprofit arts sector and would create jobs and revitalize local economies, but currently remains unfunded. 

Theatre Bay Area Announces New Executive Director

Following an extensive search and interview process over the last few months, the esteemed nonprofit Theatre Bay Area has selected Oakland resident Sean Fenton as its new Executive Director. Fenton begins his new appointment June 15.

Streaming Musicals has announced a special free live streaming event: on Friday, April 10, the site will host a 'virtual opening night' for the debut of Pride and Prejudice, in a new musical adaptation by Tony Award nominee Paul Gordon (Broadway's Jane Eyre). Gordon is also represented on Streaming Musicals with his musical adaptation of Emma.
