Sean David Cooper enjoys a diverse artistic life comprised of acting, writing, singing, directing, and lecturing.
On Broadway, Sean appeared in the original cast of Baz Luhrmann’s production of Puccini’s La Bohème and Riverdance on Broadway. Roles of note include Emile deBecque in South Pacific, Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance, Captain Lombard in The Mousetrap, and Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire.
As a singer and director Sean has collaborated nationally with regional opera houses and the symphony orchestras of Memphis, Detroit, Oakland, and Orange County, and has functioned as arts envoy to the U.S. Embassy to Mozambique, Africa.
A frequent guest of the Metropolitan Opera Guild, Sean has presented at the National Conferences of the American Musicological Society, the Mozart Society of America, and the National Opera Association. He attended Carnegie-Mellon University, the Manhattan School of Music, and holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Memphis.
Sean teaches yoga and TRX, and is an advocate of mindfulness.
