Scott Evans is a New York-based director and actor. He is Artistic Director of Somerled Arts and an Associate Artist with the American Music Theatre Project.
Scott recently directed A MUSICAL CHRISTMAS CAROL at Pittsburgh CLO (starring Richard Thomas). Other directing includes THE MUSEUM OF BROKEN RELATIONSHIPS (by David H. Bell and Daniel Green) at the Eugene O'Neill National Music Theater Conference and Theatre Aspen, as well as regional productions of BILOXI BLUES, THE RUBY SUNRISE, THE FOREIGNER, and THE FANTASTICKS. He was Associate Director for the NY premiere of Jeffrey Hatcher's TEN CHIMNEYS (starring Byron Jennings and Carolyn McCormick) and the Off-Broadway revival of THE SILVER CORD, as well as the world premieres of GUT BUCKET BLUES and SHAKIN' THE RAFTERS at Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre in Atlanta. He directs for the NYU Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program and the American Music Theatre Project at Northwestern University, and is dramaturg for their annual collaboration with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
As an actor, Scott was in the Off-Broadway revivals of ROOM SERVICE and THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER. His regional work includes roles at Ford's Theatre, Pittsburgh CLO, Tennessee Rep, Bethesda Theatre/Nederlander Worldwide, Arrow Rock Lyceum, West Virginia Public, Forestburgh Playhouse, and the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, among others.
