Scott Ebersold is a theatre director and former Artistic Associate of Off-Broadway's Classic Stage Company. Scott recently directed the Off-Broadway Premiere of Max Vernon’s new Musical The View UpStairs that was nominated for 2 Lortel Awards, 3 Drama Desk Awards, an Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical and for which Audelco/The Viv nominated him for a Best Director. His other directing credits include: Charles L. Mee's trilogy Imperial Dreams at Classic Stage Company, an updated version of Tony Kushner's A Bright Room Called Day for Columbia Stages at the Connelly Theater, Rare Birds by Adam Szymkowicz, Small Steps by Briandaniel Oglesby at Portland Center Stage's JAW Festival, The Gifts of the Magi at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, Children at Play by Jordan Seavey (Collaboration Town) The Advocate’s “Top 10 Gay Plays of 2009”, Elevation (Vineyard Arts Project) an original devised multimedia performance piece, The Calmative an immersive performance based on the writings of Beckett and Nancy Cunard, Nerve by Adam Szymkowicz (Packawallop), Three Sisters and Baal for Columbia Stages at the Shapiro Theatre, Anne Carson's Orestes at The Miller Theatre, NYMF's Explorers concert at the Signature Center Griffin Theatre, America, You Kill Me by Joshua Conkel, The End of Days by Jeffrey James Keyes, Paper Cranes by Kari Bentley-Quinn, Edgar and Patrick by Ken Urban, as well as the silent concerto (Outstanding Director Award, FringeNYC), the october crisis, marea (at HERE), and expat/inferno (Best Overall Production Award, FringeNYC) by Alejandro Morales. His work has been seen at Classic Stage Company, Portland Center Stage, The Lynn Redgrave Theatre, Lincoln Center Director’s Lab, HERE, The Living Theater, INTAR, The Lark and New Dramatists among others. He assisted directors Tina Landau at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago and John Doyle on first major NYC revival of Roder and Hamerstein's Allegro at Classic Stage Company. He as directed two films; The Moment (Gotham Screen Festival Premiere) and Quartet as well as the pilot for the web-series Raptured. Scott is Founding Artistic Director of Packawallop Productions and alum of Lincoln Center Theater’s Director's Lab and the Tectonic Theater’s Literary Department. He holds a BFA in Drama from NYU and an MFA in Theatre Directing from Columbia University.
