A CHRISTMAS STORY Comes To The BDTStage

From the songwriting team behind the smash hit Tony Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen and the Academy Award-winning film La La Land, A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL, brings the classic 1983 movie to hilarious life on stage! Set in 1940s Indiana, a young and bespectacled Ralphie Parker schemes his way toward the holiday gift of his dreams, an official Red Ryder Carbine- Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle. An infamous leg lamp, outrageous pink bunny pajamas, a maniacal department store Santa, and a triple-dog-dare to lick a freezing flagpole are just a few of the distractions that stand between Ralphie and his Christmas wish. A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL plays BDT Stage this holiday season November 10, 2018 - January 5, 2019.

BWW Review: BDT's ROCK OF AGES is Hot Shredded Cheese

Hot. Shredded. Cheese. You know what I'm talking about. That gooey kind that stretches from the plate to your mouth, and you just can't get enough. That's how BDT Stage's current '80s jukebox musical Rock of Ages feels.
BDT Stage to Jam with ROCK OF AGES

Sherrie's just a small-town girl living in a lonely world. She took a late night bus to Los Angeles with visions of stardom in her eyes. Rock of Ages is a mix-tape compilation musical of some of the most memorable songs of the 1980s, including Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'," "We Built This City" by Starship, and Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is," set to a story about pursuing dreams. Rock of Ages plays BDT Stage September 1 - November 11, with discounted preview performances August 25 - 31, 2017.
BWW Review: THE ADDAMS FAMILY at BDT Stage

The Addams Family has been playing BDT Stage in Boulder since November, but even though death is just around the corner for this show's run, it still manages to be everything but neat, sweet and petite. (Which is exactly what an homage to the classic family deserves.)
BWW Reviews: MARY POPPINS at BDT Stage

'Mary Poppins' is a film classic that children of all ages have enjoyed for many years. It is a lighthearted, whimsical tale of a pair of unruly children who are taught the value of order, morality, and family love by a magical nanny who floats into their lives by way of a gust of wind. I was so enamored of Mary Poppins' magic, that as a child I was convinced that singing and snapping my fingers would magically make my chores complete. Alas, things are always sweeter and brighter in Disney films. Such is the case for the stage production of Mary Poppins, which strays from the Julie Andrews version of the tale that we all grew up with from the movie. Instead, some of the darker elements from the P.L. Travers books that Mary Poppins was torn from are included in the musical, and add just the right amount of bitter to the sweetness.
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF Begins Tomorrow at BDT

A musical theatre tradition is coming to Boulder for the holiday season. Winner of 9 Tony Awards when it debuted in 1964, Fiddler on the Roof is a journey of love, loss, faith and family -- a celebration of life and all its challenges. From the rich orchestrations and beautiful score to the powerful production numbers and emotionally-charged story, this timeless show is one everyone should experience. Fiddler on the Roof opens at BDT Stage on November 14, 2014, and plays during the winter holiday season through February 28, 2015.
BWW Reviews: Boulder's Dinner Theater Creates Hilarious, Medieval Magic with Monty Python's SPAMALOT!

The talented cast shows off their superb comedic skills with perfect timing of Monty Python's cunning sarcasm, witty banter, and amusing wordplay.
SPAMALOT Plays Boulder Dinner Theatre, Now thru 3/1

Rude Frenchmen, cancan dancers, the Lady of the Lake and her Laker Girls, killer rabbits, catapulting cows, and the somewhat odd Knights who say 'ni' are just part of the adventures and dangers awaiting King Arthur and his knights of the very, very, very round table in their quest for the holy grail. Lovingly ripped off from the motion picture, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot is the fresh and irreverent parody of the Arthurian legend. It was nominated for 14 Tony Awards, winning three, including Best New Musical for 2005. During its initial run, it was seen by more than two million people and now you can see it right in your own backyard as Boulder's Dinner Theatre sets forth on the quest for the Holy Grail this winter - playing tonight, November 16, 2013 through March 1, 2014.

BWW Reviews: Boulder's Dinner Theatre PHANTOM - Wonderfully Executed!

When we actors are starting out, we have to pay our dues, whether it's performing in dinner theatres, amusement parks, or cruise ship entertainment. This company, however, is an exception to the rule and brings a humble professionalism on and off the stage that is quite refreshing.
