Jenness Cortez: New York Stories Comes to Cavalier Gallery
Cavalier Gallery will present New York Stories a solo exhibition featuring paintings by contemporary realist Jenness Cortez. The show will be on view from November 21st a?" December 31st at Cavalier Gallery, 4th floor, 3 W. 57th Street, New York, New York. An opening reception with the artist in attendance will be held on Thursday, November 21st, from 6 to 8pm.
The Barnett And Annalee Newman Foundation Gives Art And $10 Million To The Jewish Museum
The Jewish Museum announced today that it has received a major gift from The Barnett and Annalee Newman Foundation, established in 1996 by Annalee Newman, the artist's widow. The gift includes artworks from Barnett and Annalee Newman's personal collection and works created by artists who were recipients of the Barnett and Annalee Newman Award. The gift also includes $10 million, for the endowment of the Museum's first curatorial position dedicated to contemporary art; for the care and exhibition of the collection; and a promised gift for future institutional use.

BRIDGING THE GAP: A traveling group exhibition featuring 50 artworks representing 40 artists from Queens, New York. This multi-venue show, curated by LIC Artists, Inc (Long Island City Artists) and Amy Winter, Director Godwin-Ternbach Museum, in collaboration with Flushing Town Hall, reaches out to the varied communities near LaGuardia Community College, Flushing Town Hall, and Queensborough Community College, to highlight and showcase the broad diversity and creativity of Queens' artists.

Treasures of New York showcases the series' first Long Island 'treasure' about the historic Amagansett Life-Saving Service Station in Ocean Keeper. After premiering at the 2012 Hamptons International Film Festival, the film receives its public television primetime premiere on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 8:30 p.m. on THIRTEEN and Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 9:30 p.m. on WLIW21.
