BIO
When Sarah was eight years old, her experience playing Molly in Annie at Bass Hall began her love for performing. Since then, she has performed in more than twenty shows at Casa Manana in Fort Worth and other professional theater productions in the DFW area. Her theatrical training began with the Casa Kids performance group at Casa Manana. She continues her studies at Casa Manana's Performing Arts Conservatory and also studies privately. Her favorite roles to date are: Michael in Peter Pan, Piglet in Winnie the Pooh, Julie in Frosty the Snowman, Madeline in Madeline's Christmas (Dallas Children's Theater), and Annie in Annie (Theatre Arlington).

Last week, it was with great joy that I went to 54 Below to see the TCU Department of Theatre Senior and Alumni Showcase. As about half of the performers were graduating seniors, it isn't really fair to review the evening, but there was so much talent on the stage it is an event that should be noted. These are performers we will definitely be seeing in New York again, and soon.

Wizard of Oz Actress Adjusts Performance for Deaf Patrons
This weekend in Fort Worth, Texas, actress Molly Franco took the stage as Dorothy in Casa Mañana's production of THE WIZARD OF OZ. When Franco learned that members of the deaf community were in the audience on Thursday evening, she sought permission to adjust the blocking of the show's iconic song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" to incorporate American Sign Language into her performance.

Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID debuted in movie theatres way back in 1989, but nearly twenty years of children singing "Kiss The Girl," "Part of your World," and "Pour Unfortunate Souls" led Disney to produce the celebrated story on a Broadway stage in 2009. And although the show lasted less than two years in New York, it is quickly becoming a staple among high schools, regional and youth theatres. Casa Manana's current production (using the edited "Junior" version of the script) is a shining example of what the show is written to inspire: fun and freedom!

Casa Mañana Heads Under the Sea to Wrap Up the 2016-17 Children's Theatre Season
Based on the classic animated film, Disney's The Little Mermaid, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its unforgettable songs including "Under the Sea," "Kiss the Girl" and "Part of Your World." When the mermaid, Princess Ariel, longs for a life out of the water, she bargains with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her fins for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel needs to help of her colorful friends Founder the fish, Scuttle the seagull and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea. This show is suitable for all audiences.
