Dorset Theatre Festival Artistic Director Departs

After 13 seasons as the artistic director of Dorset Theatre Festival in Dorset, Vermont, Dina Janis has resigned from her role this fall. The Festival's Board of Trustees has announced current Producing Director Will Rucker as the company's Interim Executive Producer.

The season will open on September 24 and 25, with our first children’s show in 2 years. “Red and the Hoods” directed by Beatriz Esteban-Messina. On October 1 and 2nd our in- house company, the Forge, will be performing our 10 Minute Play Festival benefit with writers like John Patrick Shanley, Sarah T. Schwab and Richard Vetere.

Sarah T. Schwab and Brian Long today announced the launch of their independent film production company Cardinal Flix (CFI). The New York-based company will produce low budget (under $2.5MM) independent films covering a range of genres, from dramas to psychological thrillers.

Dorset Theatre Festival, under the leadership of Artistic Director Dina Janis and Producing Director Will Rucker, will present A Stage of Twilight by Sarah T. Schwab on Tuesday, August 6, 2019. This is the third reading of the acclaimed Pipeline Series of three one-night-only presentations of new work. The play was most recently read at the Berkshire Theatre Group in August 2018, also starring Allen. The reading at Dorset will be directed by the Festival's artistic director, Dina Janis.

Maned Wolf Productions partners with Off-Broadway Producer Brian Long and Pocono Mountains Theater Company to present a the reading of a new play by playwright Sarah T. Schwab featuring Drama Desk and Obie Award winning Actor Michael Cullen and Joseph Jefferson recipient and award winning Juan Francisco Villa, on July 14th.. There will also be a special Screening of Ms. Schwab's short film will be on July 15th. Both events will take place in Barrett Township, PA.

New York's Rattlestick Playwrights Theater presents its Los Angeles premiere of the critically-acclaimed play Slipping, written and directed by Daniel Talbott, which began previews Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Elephant Stages' Lillian Theatre in Hollywood, Calif. and will run through May 5, 2013. Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's production of the world premiere of Jesse Eisenberg's The Revisionist, starring Eisenberg and Vanessa Redgrave, and directed by Kip Fagan, has been extended for three weeks though Sunday, April 21, at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street.
