Florida Grand Opera Young Artists Say Goodbye with a Pair of Concerts
'How strange the change from major to minor,' Cole Porter wrote in his classic song, 'Every Time We Say Goodbye.' On the weekend of May 20-21, Florida Grand Opera says goodbye to its current group of Young Artists with a special concert that puts each of them in the spotlight. The YA Final Sing, as it has come to be known, is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the end of FGO's season. It will be given in two different venues:

Friday was a big day at Florida Grand Opera (FGO). The company held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to commemorate the largest gift in its 75 year history - its 35,000 square foot office and rehearsal space. FGO's General Director and CEO, Susan T. Danis, opened the event with a short introduction welcoming press and donors to the momentous occasion and expressing the sincere gratitude of all those affiliated with the Opera.

Semifinalists Announced for First-Ever Music Educator Award
A total of 25 music teachers from 24 cities across 15 states have been announced as semifinalists for the Music Educator Award presented by The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Foundation. In total, more than 30,000 initial nominations were submitted from all 50 states.
