Platform will present Eleven Months of Nuclear Summer an original work by Sophie McIntosh. The play follows six women who find themselves stuck at a summer camp when a nuclear apocalypse hits the world (see full summary below).
Playwrights' Center And Augsburg University Announce Education Partnership
The Playwrights' Center and Augsburg University have signed a Memorandum Of Understanding, entering a formal partnership to offer online, university-accredited playwriting courses to students from multiple universities and colleges across the United States. The course offerings will be guided by Augsburg University's Theater Department in conjunction with the Playwrights' Center. Registration and accreditation will go through Augsburg's Center for Global Education and Experience (CGEE).

DGF Is Sending Traveling Masters To Ohio And Minnesota This April
The Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) has announced that it will be bringing its Traveling Masters program to Ohio and Minnesota over the course of this month. Traveling Masters is a nationwide education program providing master classes and events on the craft of writing. The program presents an incredible opportunity for students, aspiring professionals, and theater lovers to connect with the giants of American theater to be inspired, challenged, and empowered. Participants get the chance to interact with award-winning writers, allowing them to learn, ask questions, and develop their talents with input from true experts. Participants in each of these states will gain insight into the real-life experiences of these renowned playwrights.

MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD Gives Saint Sebastian Players Audiences the Chance to Solve for Themselves
Welcoming the audience to get involved in the action, the Saint Sebastian Players (SSP) open the company's 38th season with the multiple Tony Award-winning musical The Mystery of Edwin Drood with book, music and lyrics by Rupert Holmes. Performances are October 26-November 18, 2018 at SSP's home in the lower level of St. Bonaventure, 1625 W. Diversey, Chicago. Starting this season, SSP Friday and Saturday evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday matinees remain at 2 p.m.

Last fall Penumbra Theatre launched a civic engagement campaign called "My America" to imagine a more loving, inclusive America. Obsidian Theater in association with Standing Room Only Productions is excited to bring the musical comedy, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, to Houston audiences. This hilarious whodunit will run September 28-October 14 at Obsidian Theater. With book, music and lyrics by Rupert Holmes, this show within a show is based on the final unfinished novel of the same name by Charles Dickens, who left his story unfinished when he passed away in 1870. Due to the novel being incomplete, the identity of the murderer, or the question of Drood's ultimate fate, was never revealed.
