The 16th Annual FRESH FRUIT AWARDS Of DISTINCTION Announced
Kicking-off it's Stonewall@50 Season, the 16th annual FRESH FRUIT AWARDS of DISTINCTION will be presented Monday, May 6, with the reception at 6:30 p.m. and presentations beginning at 7 p.m. As in past years, the event will be at the Bowery Poets Club, 308 Bowery, New York City.
Long View Theater Company Presents PIT, 2/28-3/17
In Pit, the residents of a Welsh mining village are pushed to the brink as the Iron Lady tightens her grip on Britain. The play explores how these people cope with adversity and the lengths to which they will go to survive as the miner's strike of 1984 brings out the best and the worst of this tight-knit community.

The two evenings will feature monologues about the body, written for femaleidentifying or female-bodied actresses, as well as some live music by female musicians.

Theater for the New City Announces PIT Cast
Long View Theater Company presents Pit, a new play by Melisa Annis. Jeff Woodbridge directs a cast of eight including Patrick Eichner, Samantha Jones*, Kurt Kelly*, Jake Levitt, Molly Lovell, Sarah Matteucci, Ted McGuinness, and Michael Mraz. Pit will run at the Theater for the New City, 155 First Avenue (bet. 9th and 10th Streets), New York City 10003 for sixteen performances, February 28-March 17, 2013. *Member, Actors' Equity Association. The New York One-Minute Play Festival will take place Sunday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street), the Off-Broadway home of Primary Stages. Seating is extremely limited.

This spring, the students in Site-Specific Directing at Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA) have staged theatre all over New York City: from Shakespeare in Central Park and on the High Line to Chekhov in the Russian and Turkish Baths to Sarah Kane on rooftops, libraries, and street corners. The directors concluded their class this week by fully producing eight new short plays by a group of incredible writers in and around the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn.
