MLIMA'S TALE Comes to Burning Coal Theatre Company

Burning Coal Theatre Company has announced its production of Lynn Nottage's Mlima's Tale, directed by Ana Radulescu. Mlima's Tale will run January 26 – February 12, 2023, at the Murphey School, located at 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC 27604. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2 pm.

Triad Stage's Founding Artistic Director Preston Lane continues to mine the dramatically rich fictional town of Hawboro, North Carolina in this explosive World Premiere drama. Loosely based on Emile Zola's Therese Raquin, Playwright/Director Lane's modern tale focuses on Teresa Rae King, a young woman trapped in a loveless marriage; disappointed by her husband and terrorized by her gorgon mother-in-law, Teresa Rae finally discovers true passion in the arms of Levon, an ex-con. Their plot to free Teresa Rae produces harrowing results pushing them to madness. Sarah Hankins (The Queen's Company) leads the cast of seven -- Melat Ayalew, Patrick M. Ball (Sex with Strangers), Madeline Fox, Beth Glover (Cinderella, Take Me Along), Lorin Kaplan and Stanton Nash (Wicked).
HEISENBERG to Be Presented at Burning Coal Theatre in December

Burning Coal Theatre Company will present the southeastern premiere of Simon Stephens' Heisenberg, a comedy/drama about two mismatched souls who collide. The play will run January 19 - 21, 26-28 and February 2 - 4, 2017 at 7:30 pm and January 22, 29 and February 5, 2017 at 2 pm at Burning Coal's Murphey School Auditorium, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC 27604. Tickets are $25 regular admission or $20 for seniors (65+) or $15 for students, teachers and active military. Student Rush tickets at curtain time, if available, are $5 apiece. The first Sunday, January 22nd, is Pay What You Can Day and will be Audio described by Arts Access. All Thursday performances are $15.
