Actor Therapy Spotlights SPRING AWAKENING At 54 Below
ACTOR THERAPY is back at Feinstein's/54 Below- but with a twist! This time, they're singing the beloved score of Duncan Sheik & Steven Sater's rock musical SPRING AWAKENING. Directed by award-winning composer-lyricist Ryan Scott Oliver (35mm, Darling) & ACTOR THERAPY's Director of Events Mathieu Whitman, the show will feature 35 fabulous ACTOR THERAPY students performing alongside a 4-piece band.

This summer Theatreworks USA, the nation's leading not-for-profit professional theatre for young audiences, presents the Off-Broadway Premiere of Junie B.'s Essential Survival Guide to School. Performances began Wednesday July 20th at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson Streets). The Annual Opening Night Benefit is tonight, July 27th (6:30 PM). The Drilling Company's critically-praised Steampunk adaptation of 'As You Like It,' which debuted in Shakespeare in the Parking Lot last summer, is to be remounted July 21 to 23 for Bryant Park Presents Shakespeare with its original cast mostly intact and expanded music by Natalie Smith and Andrew Gombas. The production offers delightful lessons of love, starting off in a stately English Victorian world and moving into a Steampunk paradise when the scene shifts from a conventional Duchy to the mythical Forest of Arden. Hamilton Clancy directs.
Shakespeare in the Parking Lot Presents 'AS YOU LIKE IT'
The Drilling Company's Shakespeare in the Parking Lot (www.shakespeareintheparkinglot.com) has found a new home in the Parking Lot behind The Clemente Soto Velez Cultural and Educational Center (CSV), 114 Norfolk Street between Delancey and Rivington Streets. The troupe will kick off the third decade of Shakespeare in the Parking Lot there July 9 to 26 with 'As You Like It,' directed by Artistic Director Hamilton Clancy. The production will offer delightful lessons of love, starting off in a stately English Victorian world and moving into a Steampunk paradise when the scene shifts from a conventional Duchy to the mythical Forest of Arden.
MARVELLOUS is Coming to FringeNYC, 8/8-15
Marvellous by Matt Minnicino, directed by Elizabeth Nearing, will have its world premiere at The Theater at the 14th St Y (located at 344 E 14th St) as a part of the NYC International Fringe Festival this summer. There are five performances on Friday 8/8 at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday 8/9 at 6:15 p.m.; Tuesday 8/12 at 9:00 p.m.; Thursday 8/14 at 3:45 p.m.; Friday 8/15 at 4:00p.m. Tickets are $18, available through the FringeNYC website (www.fringenyc.org)
BroadwaySpotted's Next Big Star Competition Finalists Sing Live at Davenport Theatre Tonight
After a national online search, the votes have been tallied and the top 10 finalists for BroadwaySpotted's Next Big Star have been announced. The 10 finalists will compete for the title of BroadwaySpotted's Next Big Star live at The Davenport Theatre (354 West 45 Street New York, NY 10036) tonight, May 22nd, 2014 at 7PM. The winner will be determined by a panel of industry judges and popular audience vote. Industry judges include Tony Award winning Producer Ken Davenport (Kinky Boots, Godspell), casting director Cesar Rocha (C.S.A, Telsey + Company), composer/lyricist Georgia Stitt (This Ordinary Today), and acclaimed NYC voice teacher Robert Sussuma; rock audition guru Sheri Sanders (Rock The Audition) will host the evening.
