The Detroit Repertory Theatre Presents the World Premiere of THE HOUSE ON POE STREET
The Detroit Repertory Theatre announces the world premiere production of The House on Poe Street by Fengar Gael, opening Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 8:30 pm. Opening Nights at the Detroit Repertory Theatre are always Champagne Celebrations. Patrons are invited to stay after the performance and enjoy a champagne afterglow with the playwright, composer, cast and crew.
Shakespeare Royal Oak Opens Thursday Night
Shakespeare Royal Oak kicks off its 18th season in Royal Oak's Starr Jaycee Park Thursday night with the opening of Much Ado About Nothing. The festival continues with peformances and educational programs through Sunday, August 5.Tickets for all performances ($15-$25) are on sale now at www.shakespeareroyaloak.com. Detroit Repertory Theatre presents CAPITAL
The World Premiere of James Armstrong's farce Capital will have a Champagne Opening Celebration on Thursday, March 23 at the Detroit Repertory Theatre at 8:30 PM. Opening Nights at the Rep are always full of camaraderie and celebration. This one will be no different. Guests are invited to join in a Champagne toast in the elegant lobby gallery of the Theatre after the show with the cast, crew and playwright who will be flying in for the Opening Night of his play. The familiar story of Scrooge, Tiny Tim and the ghosts that change a life is a holiday favorite and annual tradition for scores of families in the area. "'A Christmas Carol' is our gift to southeast Michigan," said Cheryl Marshall, MBT managing director. "People come back year after year. Maybe they saw it 20 years ago with a school group and now want to share it with their children. It's a magical event."

This summer, the theatre company will again 'Shake' up summer education with two week-long programs for students in grades one through pre-college.
