Camp Broadway's Original Summer Program for theater-loving kids, ages 10-17, began earlier this week and continued through July 18, 2014. The week-long program immerses campers in an authentic Broadway rehearsal process that culminated in a Family Finale presentation yesterday. Inspired by Broadway's cherished works and steeped in its grand traditions, Camp Broadway is designed to build confidence, inspire creative expression, and instill well-being in both aspiring artists and future audiences.

Elements Theatre Company of Orleans, Mass., will explore the ways in which our culture and relationships have changed over the past 30 years by presenting and discussing A. R. Gurney's Pulitzer-nominated play, The Dining Room, at Nyack College (Nyack and Manhattan campuses) today, March 4-7, 2013. As part of its annual educational tour, Elements will perform Gurney's comedy of upper-middle class American manners plus conduct talk-backs, workshops, and a panel discussion designed to examine the relevance of theater and art in today's society.

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) celebrated the 40th anniversary of the founding of its Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) with the kickoff of the recently formed HSMT Alumni Association. Graduates and supporters of the HSMT program from the past four decades joined for an evening of celebration and reunion as they mixed and mingled amidst the backdrop of the HSMT rehearsal rooms, complete with wine and hors d'oeuvres from City Kitchen.

On Monday, July 16, Broadway at Birdland was proud to present another "Frank & Friends," a monthly concert hosted by multi-Grammy and Tony nominated composer Frank Wildhorn. Joining Frank onstage was the gifted Grammy-nominated jazz singer Jane Monheit, Las Vegas and Cafe Carlyle headliner Clint Holmes, and a band that included David Mann on woodwinds, Chris Lightcap on bass and Clint de Ganon on drums. The historic room was packed with showbiz glitterati, including Chita Rivera (upcoming Drood), Ben Vereen, Constantine Maroulis (upcoming Jekyll & Hyde), Sara Gettelfinger (Addams Family tour), Patrick Page (Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark), and Paige Davis (host of the upcoming talk show "Home & Family").

On Sunday, November 6, 2011, Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU), now celebrating its 20th year, will host the 2011 TRU Love Benefit at Caroline's on Broadway (1626 Broadway between 49th and 50th ). The Benefit was created to honor those who have lent standout service to the theatrical community. This year's award recipients are producer Bruce Lazarus; Ben Cameron and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation; and Lou Rodgers of Golden Fleece Limited.

Hundreds of middle school students across the country are taking a pledge to be a 'respectful and positive person', to recognize that 'each person is unique,' to 'be more accepting' of people 'and make no snap judgments about them'. And stars of Broadway's family-favorite musical The Addams Family will headline a live national Internet broadcast to 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade classrooms that will encourage and promote students to take the 'No Snap Judgments' pledge. The event takes place on Thursday, October 13th from 11:30AM - 12Noon EDT.
