Among the members who signed the statement of support for the CROWN Act are Audra McDonald, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Kerry Washington, and dozens of other performers. In the letter, members assert, “Discrimination based on hair style or texture is a destructive practice that has alienated and caused irreparable harm to Black Americans.”

Ensemble cast members returning for the new season include Wilson Bethel, Jessica Camacho, J. Alex Brinson, Ruthie Ann Miles, Lindsay Mendez, and Lindsey Gort. Janda's previous cabaret at Don't Tell Mama as well as performances in Detroit, MI.

The Public Theater will begin previews for the North American premiere of GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY on Tuesday, September 11 with a Free First Preview performance. This new musical was initially extended through Sunday, November 18, and has been extended an additional three weeks through Sunday, December 9
