WCSU Students and Faculty Earn Multiple Regional KCACTF Awards
Students and faculty from the Western Connecticut State University Department of Theatre Arts have once again collected a multitude of awards at this year's Region 1 Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival competition. The regional festival was conducted virtually this year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

WCSU Wins Five Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival National Awards
The Western Connecticut State University Department of Theatre Arts participated in the Region One Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) in late January/early February for the fourth year in a row. The department once again came out strong by staging a well-received performance of the university's fall 2018 production, 'Uncle Vanya,' at Cape Cod Community College that resulted in five national awards.

The Kennedy Center Announces 50th KCACTF National Festival
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 120 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the 50th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 16-20, 2019 in multiple locations throughout the Center. The Center also announced the national awardees for the KCACTF. Selected awardees and representatives will be brought to Washington, D.C. for an expense-paid trip to participate in the National Festival. These student artists from across the United States have been recognized for their outstanding work from the eight regional festivals that were held January 8 through February 28, 2019.

Sousa, Tory Trowbridge and Scott Willis performing the numbers 'Shall We Dance,' 'For You, For Me, For Evermore,' 'I'll Build a Stairway to Paradise,' and 'S Wonderful.'
