BWW Review: THE SANTALAND DIARIES at Playhouse On Park

The holidays are a season of excitement and joy for people of all ages. This festive time of year comes with all the trappings - colorful decorations, gifts for loves ones, and of course, visits to see the big man in the red suit. But have you ever stopped to wonder what the lives of those who toil day after joyous day in green velvet and striped stockings? Yes, I am talking about Santa's helpers, the energetic and excited elves who ensure your visit to the North Pole is as wonderful as it can be. In David Sedaris' one man play, THE SANTALAND DIARIES, playing now at Playhouse on Park in West Hartford, audiences get a peek through the a?oemagic windowa?? at one man's hilarious experience as an elf in Macy's Santaland.
Casting Announced For THE SANTALAND DIARIES At Playhouse On Park

David Sedaris' THE SANTALAND DIARIES begins performances at Playhouse on Park on December 4, and will run through December 21. This one-man play has a?oea satirical brazenness that holds up next to Twain and Nathanael West' (The New Yorker).
ABC DISCOVERS: NEW YORK TALENT SHOWCASE to Take Place Today

ABC Talent and Casting will present the 2019 ABC Discovers: New York Talent Showcase, TUESDAY, SEPT. 17, at the New World Stages – Stage 2, in New York City. Part of Walt Disney Television's ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for undiscovered talent, the showcase features selected participants performing in a one-night showcase for casting directors, talent agents, managers and other industry professionals. In addition, the selected showcase actors are awarded a one-year mentorship with executives from ABC Casting. As part of the mentorship, the showcase actors will be offered on-camera workshops specifically for them to further hone their craft and auditioning skills. Talent will also have access to various ABC executives.
BWW Review: Folger's Intimate and Informal SAINT JOAN

Watching Saint Joan, something seems missing in Bedlam's informal and intimate production. Maybe it is the grandeur of Europe's royal and religious court or the dazzling array of characters being brought vividly to life. Whatever it is, this production seems under produced, and that, when involving the great George Bernard Shaw is a cardinal sin.

BEDLAM: HAMLET + SAINT JOAN Come to The Broad Stage, 4/5-15

The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents Bedlam, the acclaimed New York based theatre company, with a fresh kinetic look at two plays with four actors, playing 49 characters in William Shakespeare and George Bernard Shaw's most famous creations, side by side, Hamlet and Saint Joan, in repertory April 5 to 15 at The Broad Stage. This engagement will be the company's West-Coast debut.
