10th Annual DTLA Film Festival Announces 2018 Filmmaker Awards
The 10th annual DTLA Film Festival, Oct. 17-21 at Regal L.A. LIVE in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, announced its 2018 Filmmaker Awards. The two big prize winners were the gender and genre bending contemporary ghost story, "Ocatvio Is Dead!," which picked up the Best Picture and the Best Director awards for Sook-Yin Lee, and Collin Schiffli's drama "All Creatures Here Below," which won the Audience Favorite award and captured the Best Actor prizes for Karen Gillan and David Dastmalchian.

Ramos' very clever, contemporary script (lots of screen grabs of texting and emojis) weaves a sometimes funny, sometimes heart-warming, always real tale of Benji, a gay Asian-American comic book artist and his close family of friends.

The Pasadena Playhouse, in association with David Shor Productions, presents SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE - THE MUSICAL. Single tickets are also currently on sale. The Love of Life orchestra (LOLO) will perform Symphony #5 which emphasizes the orchestral dimension of the Love of Life Orchestra. Symphony #5, a new work, is a culmination of work Peter Gordon has been composing over the past 5 years in a multimovement format. It is compositionally intricate, at the same time allowing for the musical personae of the musicians to come forth.
