Philadelphia, Here I Come! at the Cork Opera House, opening on Tuesday, October 5th will feature the professional acting debut of an upcoming Cork actor, Oskar Smith. Oscar was selected to play the role of Joe following the open auditions held to cast the three young friends of the central character, Gar Private, played by Alex Murphy.

Starring Alex Murphy (Conor in The Young Offenders), Abbey and Druid Theatre regular, Catherine Walsh, Seamus O'Rourke, Fionula Linehan, and Michael Sands and set in the fictional town of Ballybeg, Philadelphia, Here I Come! premiered in 1964 and subsequently transferred to Broadway where it received numerous Tony Award nominations. It is regarded as Friel's first masterpiece. He would go on to write such legendary titles as Translations, Dancing at Lughnasa and Faith Healer.
ON BLUEBERRY HILL Will Transfer to the West End
Olivier Award-winning and internationally-acclaimed Irish theatre company, Fishamble: The New Play Company, will be bringing its production of On Blueberry Hill to the West End in Spring 2020. Following hugely successful and sell-out seasons in Dublin and New York, Fishamble's critically acclaimed production of Sebastian Barry's new play opens at London's Trafalgar Studios on 5 March (Press Night 11 March) for a strictly limited season until 2 May. Brokentalkers Bring WOMAN UNDONE to The Everyman
Woman Undone is a re-imagining of the extraordinary early life of one of Ireland's best loved singers Mary Coughlan, created by award-winning Irish theatre company Brokentalkers and Mary Coughlan in collaboration with renowned Icelandic composer and music producer Valgeir Sigurdsson and movement director Eddie Kaye. Woman Undone is on tour, starting with performances at The Everyman, Cork from Tuesday 22nd to Thursday 24th next, before proceeding to the Pavilion Theatre Dún Laoghaire 29th October, and the Black Box Theatre Galway 1st and 2nd November.

Inspired by a report in the New York Times that touched hearts worldwide, Penguins tells the story of Roy and Silo, two male Chinstrap penguins who just like the other penguins at Central Park Zoo, walk, play, swim and dance together. When the duo decide to try and hatch a rock in place of an egg, they find themselves on an adventure that could mean raising a chick for real.
