THE FUNNY MAN Premieres at The Brickhouse This Month

Write Act Repertory Co. will present the world premiere of THE FUNNY MAN, a solo play about America's greatest comic writer, S.J. Perelman,  June 19 – July 17, 2022, at the Brickhouse Theatre in N. Hollywood.  Performances are Sat. nights at 8pm, Sunday matinees at 1.30 pm.
Tony Nominated Melissa Errico to Present Concert at Bucks County Playhouse in June

Broadway, television and recording artist, Melissa Errico will perform two shows at Bucks County Playhouse as part of recently announced Broadway Spotlight Concert Series.  Entitled, “Ladies of the Playhouse”, performances will be held at Bucks County Playhouse on Thursday, June 3 at 7:30pm and Friday, June 4 at 8pm. Tickets are $40.

The New York Public Library has announced its upcoming free events celebrating its Al Hirschfeld Exhibit 'THE LINE KING'S LIBRARY' at the Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. The exhibition showcases NYPL's vast collection of Hirschfeld's work on display, honoring the iconic artist's relationship with the library. The show is on view now through January 4, 2014.

Stage Producer Sidney Lanier Dies at 90

According to The New York Times, Rev. Sidney Lanier, an experimental stage producer, passed away on Sept. 23 in Santa Barbara, Calif. He was 90.

Some of Broadway's best will take the stage at New York's Symphony Space on 7 October 2013 to celebrate the American music of Kurt Weill. Hosted by Ted Chapin, the evening will highlight songs from Venus as well as favorites from other Weill shows, including Street Scene, Lady in the Dark, Love Life, Lost in the Stars, Knickerbocker Holiday, The Threepenny Opera, and Happy End. The starry cast features Melissa Errico, Brent Barrett, Judy Blazer, and Ron Raines alongside Lotte Lenya Competition winners Richard Todd Adams, Douglas Carpenter, Cooper Grodin, Justin Hopkins, Zachary James, Analisa Leaming, Jacob Keith Watson, and Maren Weinberger. Weill specialist James Holmes, who conducted a fully staged production of Venus at England's Opera North in 2004, music directs, and Richard Jay-Alexander directs.

University of Cincinnati CCM Kicks Off Yearlong Kurt Weill Festival, Oct 19

Beginning this month, the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) will celebrate the iconic work and enduring legacy of composer Kurt Weill with an unprecedented series of events. Opening on Friday, Oct. 19, and running through Tuesday, March 12, CCM's Kurt Weill Festival will incorporate the renowned theatre composer into a broad range of both public performances and classroom exercises.
