BAC TO BROADWAY: A BENEFIT CABARET Set for 1/11
In the can-do spirit of so many popular Broadway musicals, seven professional performers are joining BAC Artistic Director of Theater and Dance Shellee Frazee to stage "BAC to Broadway, A Benefit Cabaret," Sat., Jan 11, 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., at the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St., Chicago. All tickets $20, and all proceeds will go to funding the BAC professional theater series.

Even better: Orange County---my home base---boasted some of the best shows, period---marking an exciting theater renaissance in brilliance and artistry that I hope continues to grow here inside L.A.'s next door neighbor. BWW Reviews: PRISCILLA at the Paramount is One Big Spectacle with No Heart
OK Broadway Producers, we need to have a chat. I understand your need to turn every mildly successful movie into a big flashy Broadway Musical in hopes that the name recognition will sell tickets. And I understand that "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert", currently on tour and playing at the Paramount, was ripe for the picking to be a huge spectacle on stage. But if you're going to take a beloved film with tons of pride and heart then at least do the story justice when you do it instead of the pandering and forced version of the story I saw last night.
