The uplifting teen film 'Lux Freer' is set to screen at Dances With Films film festival, which opens on Thursday at Regal Union Square. Golden-Globe-nominated actress Cynthia Gibb (Gypsy, Fame, Youngblood) is thrilled to have her first project from behind the camera finding great success on the festival circuit. 'Lux Freer' won Best USA Film, with Gibb grabbing Best First-Time Director, at the NY Cinematography Awards and was named Outstanding Narrative Short at the Ridgefield Independent Film Festival in Connecticut (where the short was filmed).

The York Theatre Company, as part of its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series, will present a staged reading of the new musical Monet, with music and lyrics by Carmel Owen (Asylum: The Strange Case of Mary Lincoln), and book by Joan Ross Sorkin (In the Theatre). Monet will play two performances only on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

The results of the competitive categories of ARPA International Film Fest will be announced at the Awards Ceremony after the red carpet event on Sunday at 7:30 PM. FYI's culinary series 'Scraps,' returns for a second season where host and Sur La Table National Chef Joel Gamoran travels across the U.S. creating incredible feasts in the most breathtaking locales, using ingredients people throw away. KitchenAid(R) appliances are integrated throughout the series, and Morton Salt is on board as a sponsor as part of its movement to #EraseFoodWaste. The Save The Food campaign from Ad Council and Natural Resources Defense Council is also sponsoring. Ten half-hour episodes will begin airing Thursday, October 11 at 10pm ET/PT on FYI. Panic! at the Disco to Get the Broadway Treatment?
According to the NY Times, Panic! at the Disco could be the newest band to bring their music to the Great White Way. Drummer Spencer Smith commented on the prospect: 'That would be amazing. To put together a show that was a mix of our music as well as maybe tell a story ... that would be like a dream,' he continued.
