BIO
RYAN KORELL is a musical theatre writer and composer based in both Chicago and New York. His work has been featured around the country, including Feinstein's/54 Below, the Spoleto Festival, and on adult contemporary radio. An alumnus of the Johnny Mercer Writers Colony, he has also been recognized as a Finalist for the MAC Wallowitch Awards and the Jonathan Larson Grants. Notable projects include GAY CARD and WORLDS APART (book and lyrics by Jonathan Keebler), GROUNDED (with Teresa Lotz), and LOVE IN NY (a web series by Matthew Russell and Sven J hnert). He has also worked as a copyist and music assistant on Broadway shows and cast recordings (THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, HONEYMOON IN VEGAS, THE LAST FIVE YEARS) as well as producer and music director on the GAY CARD Studio Cast Recording, available on iTunes and all major platforms. Ryan holds an MFA in musical theatre writing from NYU Tisch and a Bachelor?s in music composition from Vanderbilt University. He is a proud member of ASCAP and the Dramatists Guild.

PrideArts has announced its full cast for its Chicago premiere of the musical GAY CARD. PrideArts’ artistic director Jay Españo will direct the musical, with Robert Ollis providing musical direction and conducting a five-piece band.

PrideArts Announces Three-Show 2023-24 Season
The season will open with the Chicago premiere of the hilarious romantic musical GAY CARD, return to the British tradition of holiday pantomimes with Tom Whalley's very adult SLEEPING WITH BEAUTY, and close with Joe Calarco's all-male present-day re-imagining of ROMEO AND JULIET, SHAKESPEARE'S R & J.

The June 2021 edition will be celebrating PRIDE with new musical theatre works by Gianni Vincenzo Onori & Keurim Hur, Aaron Michael Fink, and Jonathan Keebler & Ryan Korell, and hosted by Durra Leung and Sam Rosenblatt.

Tin Pan Alley 2, a bimonthly free concert series featuring new musical theatre works, continues to foster a community of emerging musical theatre writers. In 2021, there will be six virtual concerts with 22 songwriters. Each 45-minute concert will have one specific theme: 'Love' in February; 'International Artists' in April; 'Pride' in June; 'Women+ Artists' in August; 'Halloween' in October; and 'Holidays' in December.

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 46 established and emerging writers, composers and lyricists will converge on the Goodspeed campus later this month to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 25 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.
