BIO

Ryan-James (RJ) Hatanaka is a Canadian television, film and theater actor. He is known for his role as Detective Abe Tamura in the CW series Nancy Drew, Dr. Evan Wallace in the NBC series Nurses, and Gabriel Kinslow in the Hallmark series When Hope Calls.


His theater credits include Shakespeare in the Park's production of 'King Lear' co-starring John Lithgow and Annette Bening, 'Big Love' and 'The Sandbox' at New York's Signature Theatre, and 'Romeo & Juliet' at The Guthrie Theater. He has been the spokesperson for HBO Europe since 2016.

Hallmark Channel Adds One-Time Only Airings of WHEN HOPE CALLS

Hallmark Channel announces scheduling additions to its September schedule which has been extended to give Hallmark Channel faithful a special one-time only airing of the first two episodes of streaming Original Series, 'When Hope Calls,' spinoff of 'When Calls the Heart,' Hallmark Channel's longest-running Original Series. 'When Hope Calls' has received enthusiastic praise from critics and viewers alike and has signups to Crown Media Family Network's new streaming service, Hallmark Movies Now, surging.
