Last year, in 2018, the third annual Dancers For Good Benefit supporting the Actors Fund Dancers Resource in East Hampton was so impressive that I challenged the founders to 'high-kick it up a notch even higher next year'. Joffrey Ballet School's Jazz & Contemporary Program Announces 2/15 Winter Concert
Joffrey Ballet School, a world-renowned dance center offering the most versatile and highest quality training, will present the Jazz & Contemporary Program's annual Winter Concert. The celebrated group of performers will take the stage on Sunday, February 15, 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Ailey Citigroup Theater. The program will feature eight new and restaged works from cutting-edge choreographers Ryan Daniel Beck, Lauren Cox, Tyler Gilstrap, Darrell Grand Moultrie Matthew Powell, Michael Susten, and Nathan Trice.
BWW Exclusive: National Music Theater Institute Embraced by Broadway
The National Music Theater Institute (NMTI) students have just returned to campus from two weeks training in New York City; scroll down for photos from the visit! NMTI is the newest credit-earning, semester-long intensive from the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. Utilizing the O'Neill's 50-year experience in training young theater artists and history of developing new musicals (including Nine, Avenue Q, In The Heights, [title of show], and Violet), NMTI offers broad-based training in all areas of musical theater: acting, singing, directing, writing, dance, composition, and choreography. In addition to the semester's rigorous curriculum-classes 14 hours a day, 7 days a week with emphasis on collaboration and the creation of original work- two weeks of the semester are spent learning in the epicenter of American music theater.

On Monday and Tuesday, January 11 and 12, the worlds of ballet, modern, contemporary, tap, jazz, and Broadway converged on the stage of Cedar Lake for Dance from the Heart | MEN, a four performance / two day festival of dance benefiting Dancers Responding to AIDS (DRA) a fundraising program of Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS.
