BUT I'M A CHEERLEADER: THE MUSICAL Extends At The Turbine

After a successful premier in February where it received rave reviews, the 1990s queer- culture classic musical is extending its run at The Turbine Theatre. Following a short closure to make some necessary changes for its future life, But I'm A Cheerleader will run until Sunday 8 May.

Production images have been released for Jack and the Beanstalk at Hackney Empire starring Olivier award-winner Clive Rowe as Dame Daisy Trot. Clive also co-directs this production alongside fellow Hackney panto veteran Tony Whittle, who plays Councillor Higginbottom.

Images have been released from the rehearsal room of Jack and the Beanstalk. Starring as Dame Daisy Trot, Olivier award-winner Clive Rowe also co-directs this production alongside fellow Hackney panto veteran Tony Whittle, who plays Councillor Higginbottom.

They join the previously announced Kat B as Simple Simon, Zoë Curlett as Fenella Fleshcreep, Julie Jupp as Fairy Fusia, Ellie Ruiz Rodriguez as Jill Higginbottom, Rochelle Sherona as Jack Trot, Tony Whittle as Councillor Higginbottom, and Clive Rowe as Dame Daisy Trott. The production will be choreographed by Ruthie Stephens.

There's a new tonsorial parlor setting up shop at Palm Beach Dramaworks this summer, and the proprietor possesses skills that can best be described as cutthroat. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, the brilliant Tony Award-winning musical thriller by Stephen Sondheim (music and lyrics) and Hugh Wheeler (book), opens at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre on July 14, following a specially priced preview on July 13. This deliciously macabre and witty tale of a throat-slitting barber and his enterprising accomplice, Mrs. Lovett, who grinds his victims into meat pies, runs through August 6. Clive Cholerton directs and Emmanuel Schvartzman, making his PBD debut, is the musical director.

Short North Stage's annual gala celebrated on October 7th, 2016 by starting with a cocktail hour where guests enjoyed a musical journey through the last five years of fabulous theatre with some of the favorite performers. Then the celebration continued on the main stage where they enjoyed an elegant three-course meal, catered by Carfagna's Kitchen, a Columbus favorite for the past 75 years. As an added pleasure, many of the performers joined each table on stage in costume and in character during the dinner. Throughout the evening they could bid on silent auction items with all kinds of great items to bid on including signed posters, a weekend getaway, and a couple of walk-on performances for shows in their upcoming season.
