BWW Interview: Autumn Clack of AN IMPROVISED PLAY X3 at Boiling Point Players
The Boiling Point Players opens their 2016-2017 season with AN IMPROVISED PLAY X3, produced by Cone Man Running Productions. The show is a three-night series of improvised plays and will be performed at Obsidian Theater. Each full-length performance is based on suggestions from the crowd. I got the opportunity to ask Autumn Clack about the group's beginnings, their upcoming production, and what's coming this season.
THE SHOW MIGHT GO ON Opens Tonight at Obsidian
What happens when you trap a group of unhappy actors, disgruntled stage hands, an overbearing director, and a critic together in a theater during a thunder storm? There's no telling, but opening the show will be murder...

Boiling Point Players Close Season with FIVE LESBIANS EATING A QUICHE, Beginning Tonight
After recently concluding its 2015 Cabaret Trilogy, Boiling Point Players Theatre prepares for its main stage production of 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche by Andrew Hobgood and Evan Linder. This delicious drama, winner of the 2012 NYC International Fringe Festival for Best Overall Production, spotlights five fascinating females of the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein, a group of widows who together celebrate feminism and their united savor of quiche. When the sisters assemble in 1956 for their annual quiche-tasting competition, they encounter issues amongst and around themselves, challenging the foundations of their lives, their society, and the world as they know it. Bringing comedy, tragedy and excitement to the stage, 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche promises a dynamic experience for its captive audiences.

Boiling Point Players to Present IN JULIET'S GARDEN and SECRETS OF A SOCCER MOM, 5/22-31
Boiling Point Players, an exciting new theatre company founded by Autumn Clack, Melanie Martin, and Ruth S. McCleskey, has announced its inaugural season opening May 22, 2014. In Juliet's Garden imaginatively presents William Shakespeare's best-known heroines discussing their critical - and often hilarious - opinions of their respective storylines. Secrets of a Soccer Mom, directed by Christine Weems, reveals what happens when three soccer moms discover surprising insights as they play a parent-child game against their sons. The two shows run concurrently on alternating nights, May 22 through May 31, 2014.
BWW Reviews: Cone Man Running Productions' A SPONTANEOUS SMATTERING: HOLIDAY EDITION Puts the Ha Ha Ha in Happy Holidays
Cone Man Running Productions and Obsidian Art Space's popular 24 hour play festival, A SPONTANEOUS SMATTERING, was given a seasonal spin for last night's holiday edition. Drawing a crowd of theatre diehards, family, and friends, everyone in attendance was curious to see what these skilled and talented artists would create. Waiting for the show to begin, everyone was buzzing about the #smattering posts they had seen on Facebook, the writers' previous works, and their excitement about what they were about to witness. It doesn't hurt any that everyone was treated to a free shot as they picked up their tickets either.
BWW Reviews: Cone Man Running Productions' SPONTANEOUS SMATTERING - THE THIRD is the Iron Chef of Theatre
On Saturday night, August 25, I had the pleasure of attending Cone Man Running Productions' annual twenty-four hour play festival, SPONTANEOUS SMATTERING. Although this was my first official Smattering, Saturday night was Cone Man Running Productions' third inception, and it was clear that they had gathered an avid fan base over the past two productions. A couple of laughs into the first short play, I could see why it has become such a popular event. This annual twenty-four hour play festival showcases the creative talent of local playwrights, directors, and actors and provides Houston audiences with a night of theatre that is anything but mainstream.
