Davis Museum at Wellesley College to Celebrate Shakespeare's Influence on Art
The Davis Museum at Wellesley College presents That Right Promethean Fire: Shakespeare Illustrated, an exhibition that celebrates the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death with works of art that explore Shakespeare's plays. Featuring works of art from the 17th to the 21st centuries, the exhibition will include masterpieces from John Boydell's Shakespeare Gallery, a project began in 1786 that included a collection of paintings by various artists, then translated into a large-format print series, and finally into an illustrated edition of Shakespeare's plays. The exhibition will be on view from February 10 through June 5, 2016.
WAR HORSE to Embark on UK Tour in Fall 2013; Productions Planned for Japan, South Africa, and More!
The National Theatre's award-winning production of War Horse is currently playing the New London Theatre, and will egin a full UK tour in Fall 2013, according to The Stage. While official tour dates and venues have not yet been confirmed, executive director Nick Starr revealed that in addition to the West End, Broaway, and upcoming Toronto production, there are also plans to open in Australia, Japan, and South Africa.

From 30 September 2009, a new cast of actors and puppeteers will join the National Theatre?s award-winning West End hit War Horse which is currently playing to packed houses at the New London Theatre. The National?s sell-out production of Nick Stafford?s adaptation of Michael Morpurgo?s book which transferred to the West End in March this year, has recently welcomed its 100,000th visitor to the New London Theatre. In June this year 150,000 new tickets were released for sale, taking bookings up to 12 February 2010.
