The full cast has been announced for RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN’S CINDERELLA at Theatre Latte Da, with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. Based on the new book by Douglas Carter Beane, with the original book by Oscar Hammerstein II.

Theater Latte Da Awards $20,000 Next Generation Commission To Support New Musical Theatre By Women and BIPOC Artists

Theater Latté Da today announces Bethany Brinton, Crystal Manich and Celeste Moreno as the recipients of the NEXT Generation Commission in 2022, furthering Theater Latté Da's commitment to providing opportunities for women artists and BIPOC artists. The NEXT Generation Commission supports the creation and development of new musical theatre projects whose creative teams are at least 50% women artists or BIPOC artists. The creative team will share the $20,000 commission.

World Premiere of POSTCARD AMERICAN TOWN by Lynne Shankel & Crystal Skillman to be Presented by SDSU

The newest production in SDSU’s New Musical Initiative, Postcard American Town will have its world premiere from April 29 – May 5, 2022. Written by Lynne Shankel and Crystal Skillman, this world premiere production will be directed by Professor Stephen Brotebeck, and music directed by Professor Robert Meffe from the School of Theatre, Television, and Film.

Playwrights' Center Announces 2020-2023 Core Writers Gives Significant Resources To Further Playwrights' Careers

The Playwrights' Center is continuing its commitment to developing playwrights and new work through their Core Writers program. Seven of the country's most thrilling playwrights are joining the program. The 2020-2023 Core Writers are Sharon Bridgforth, Mashuq Mushtaq Deen, Andrew Rosendorf, Riti Sachdeva, Charly Evon Simpson, Crystal Skillman, and Jonathan Spector.

Playwrights' Center Welcomes New Core Writers

The Core Writer program at the Playwrights' Center gives 25-30 of the most exciting playwrights from across the country the time and tools to develop new work for the stage. The Center is announcing new Core Writers Darren Canady, Erin Courtney, Marisela Treviño Orta, Stacey Rose, Ariel Stess and Ray Yamanouchi. Atlanta's Synchronicity Theatre to present 2018 SHEWRITES New Play Festival

In association with the Playwrights' Center of Minneapolis and Atlanta's Working Title Playwrights, Synchronicity Theatre will present SheWrites, a national playwriting competition for women, February 12 23, 2018 at Synchronicity Theatre in Atlanta. The plays that will be workshopped this year are Medica by Daryl Lisa Fazio, Romeo & Naomi Ramirez by Kathryn Walat, and Hands of Color by Kimberly Monks. Children's Theatre Company (CTC) announces the casting for the premiere of The Abominables, the first Minnesota hockey musical produced in association with The Civilians, written and directed by Steve Cosson with music and lyrics by Michael Friedman and choreography by Joe Chvala. Ryan Bourque (son of Ray Bourque) will serve as Fight and Hockey Choreographer (Ryan is a former Rangers player and current Hershey Bears player).
