Corkscrew Theater Festival opens its third annual summer festival with the world premiere of Elyse Pitock's Preexisting Conditions. Directed by Alexis Wilcock and running July 11-28, Preexisting Conditions follows a young woman with chronic illnesses who signs up for a matchmaking startup that pairs singles in need of healthcare with finance and tech industry professionals.
Corkscrew Theater Festival Announces Casting & Ticket Sales For Expanded Third Season
Corkscrew Theater Festival is pleased to announce the mainstage casts for its third annual festival, which runs July 10-August 3 at the Paradise Factory (64 East 4th Street, Manhattan). The festival features four world premieres, four workshop productions, and four readings performed in repertory over four weeks, with 80 performances in all. As in past years, special attention has been given to theater makers who are developing work through tight-knit collaborations. Tickets are now on sale.
The Tank Hosts World Premiere Of Lizzie Stern's LET'S GET READY TOGETHER
The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) will present the World Premiere of Lizzie Stern's Let's get ready together, directed by Lily Riopelle at The Tank (312 West 36th Streetbetween 8th and 9th Avenues), May 30-June 10. Performances will be Wednesday, May 30, Thursday, May 31, Friday, June 1, Saturday, June 2, Sunday, June 3, Monday, June 4, Wednesday, June 6, Thursday, June 7, Friday, June 8, Saturday, June 9, and Sunday, June 10 at 7 pm. Tickets ($15) are available for advance purchase at www.thetanknyc.org. The performance will run approximately 90 minutes, with no intermission.

Less Than Rent Theatre will kick-off LTR HOUSE PARTY, a new reading series presenting bold, innovative works by emerging playwrights, with a staged reading of Jan Rosenberg's What's Wrong With You at Axis Theatre in the West Village. The reading stars Ruth Aguilar (Rancho Viejo), Amanda Brooklyn (Our Town at Green-Wood, LTR company member), Chris Brown (What Would Crazy Horse Do?), Kimber Monroe (South Pacific), Courtney Gabrielle Williams (Pussy Sludge, LTR company member), and Brandon Zelman (Woyzeck: The Human Experiment, LTR company member), directed by Scott F. Davis (Next Faggot Nation).

Playwrights Horizons presents Rancho Viejo, the world premiere of a new play by Dan LeFranc (The Big Meal at Playwrights, Sixty Miles to Silver Lake, In the Labyrinth) and directed by three-time Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin (Placebo, This at Playwrights; Fool For Love; Bad Jews; 4000 Miles; [sic]). The production opened on December 6 at the company's Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street) and will play through Friday, December 23.
