The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) today announced the 2018 honorees to be recognized at the 21st annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival, taking place Oct. 27-Nov. 3. Showtime Greenlights Highly Anticipated HALO Television Series
Halo, the award-winning and record-shattering series of video games, is bringing its universe to SHOWTIME. The network has ordered a 10-episode season of the live-action, scripted drama HALO (working title), based on the hallowed Xbox® franchise, with Kyle Killen (Awake) serving as executive producer, writer and showrunner. Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) will direct multiple episodes and also executive produce the hour-long series. Produced by SHOWTIME in association with Microsoft/343 Industries, along with Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television, HALO will begin production in early 2019. The announcement was made today by David Nevins, President and CEO, Showtime Networks Inc.
Producer Simon Kinberg Shares Thoughts on Status of GAMBIT Starring Channing Tatum
According to Variety, producer Simon Kinberg gave a status update on the forthcoming film GAMBIT, set to star Channing Tatum. The film was annoucned back in 2015, but has been postponed due to timing conflicts for the then director, Rupert Wyatt. Wyatt has since departed from the project. To honor the work of deceased playwright Sam Shepard, Red Theater Chicago will add to their sixth season: TRUE WEST by Sam Shepard, directed by Aaron Sawyer. Currently appearing as a recurring character on Lena Waithe's new Showtime Series, The Chi - Mickey O'Sullivan will portray Lee. Jeff Kurysz will play the role of Austin after appearing in The Goodman Theatre's production of Support Group For Men.
