The Del Shores Foundation presents its first weekend-long Del Shores Foundation Writers Festival September 9-11, 2022 at the Trinity River Arts Center in Dallas. The festival will feature live stage readings of all three winning scripts from the first Del Shores Foundation Writers Search along with panels featuring industry experts in theatre and film focused specifically on writing.

The Del Shores Foundation presents a one-night-only benefit reading of the original SORDID LIVES play by Del Shores for a #SordidLiveStream. The reading will be live streamed on YouTube and Facebook on Sunday, May 31 at 5pm Pacific/8pm Eastern, hosted and produced by Emerson Collins and Del Shores.

Del Shores has established himself as one of America's top playwrights and screenwriters with a string of critical and cult hits including the award winning plays 'Daddy's Dyin' (Who's Got The Will)' - a subsequent hit film version starred Beau Bridges and Beverly D'Angelo - 'The Trials And Tribulations Of A Trailer Trash Housewife', 'Southern Baptist Sissies' and the critically acclaimed 'Yellow'. He is best known for his play 'Sordid Lives' which has spawned over 300 additional stage productions, a feature film, and a successful television series for LOGO which starred Olivia Newton John, Rue McClanahan and Leslie Jordan. The Los Angeles Times has called him 'a master of Texas comedy'. Shores brings the most recent iteration of his one-man-show, MY SORDID BEST, to The Copa Palm Springs for two performances, tonight and tomorrow night, at 7:30 pm. I had the chance to chat with Mr. Shores about his upcoming Palm Springs show and, well, his Sordid Life in general. Here are a few excerpts from that conversation.
Sequel to Del Shores' Smash Cult Hit SORDID LIVES Announced
Award-winning Writer/Director/Producer Del Shores (Southern Baptist Sissies, 'Queer As Folk', Blues For Willadean) has announced that his next feature film project will be A Very Sordid Wedding, a sequel to his 2001 gay cult classic film Sordid Lives.

More than 50 film and television stars performed Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues in an intimate theatrical setting for three performances only, February 14, 15, and 16, 2013, at the Atwater Village Theatre in Los Angeles. Delta Burke to Make LA Stage Debut in Southern Baptist Sissies
Delta Burke (Designing Woman, DAG, Delta) will make her Los Angeles stage debut in the critically acclaimed play Southern Baptist Sissies from playwright Del Shores (Queer As Folk, Sordid Lives). The limited four week engagement will begin March 29, 2006.
