FIDDLER'S JOURNEY TO THE BIG SCREEN to Open at Angelika Film Center
Zeitgeist Films in association with Kino Lorber will present the US theatrical release of FIDDLER'S JOURNEY TO THE BIG SCREEN, a recipient of an Audience Prize at 2022 Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, directed by Daniel Raim (Harold and Lillian: A Hollywood Love Story).
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF Film Documentary Gets U.S. Distribution
Narrated by Jeff Goldlbum, the film will follow director Norman Jewison's mission to bring the beloved stage production to the big screen. The film features behind-the-scenes footage and new stills as well as interviews with Jewison, Topol, John Williams, Sheldon Harnick, Rosalind Harris (Tzeitel), Michele Marsh (Hodel), Neva Small (Chava).

Yiddish FIDDLER ON THE ROOF's September 3rd Performance to Honor Theodore Bikel
National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) will launch its Fall extension of the critically-acclaimed Yiddish language production of Fiddler on the Roof, playing at the Museum of Jewish Heritage (MJH) at Edmond J. Safra Plaza, 36 Battery Place, by dedicating its Monday, September 3rd 7pm performance to the memory of its longtime friend and collaborator Theodore Bikel.

Due to critical acclaim and an entirely sold-out summer run the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) has announced a fall extension with a new block of tickets for the American Premiere of the Yiddish language Fiddler on the Roof. Originally announced to play through August 26th, the Yiddish language Fiddler on the Roof that opened on July 15th, will now play through October 25th. Yiddish FIDDLER ON THE ROOF Extends Run
National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) today announced that the highly anticipated American premiere of the Yiddish language Fiddler on the Roof, which began preview PERFORMANCES Off Broadway at the Museum of Jewish Heritage last week, will extend its run for an additional week through September 2 due to demand for tickets. The Press Opening takes place Sunday, July 15 and a VIP gala performance on Monday, July 16. Helmed by Academy Award and Tony Award winner Joel Grey, the acclaimed musical is being presented now for an 9-week limited engagement through September 2.
Folksbiene's 2nd Annual KULTURFEST Launches in June
The National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) presents KulturfestNYC, the international festival of Jewish performing arts, that attracted 50K+ attendees in one week in its June 2015 inaugural year, and this year returns for three months, from June 6 to August 29. With over three-dozen separate events in venues across the city, the summer-long festival welcomes artists and groups from France, Romania, Japan, Israel, Russia and the U.S.
Evan Pappas to Direct Workshop Production of J'OY VEY in La Jolla
Acclaimed musical theatre actor and director Evan Pappas is in La Jolla, CA, this week for a workshop production of J'OY VEY, a new holiday play by Lojo Simon and Anita Simons. The production stars veteran San Diego actors Jill Drexler and Rhona Gold. Pappas directed a reading of the play earlier this year in New York with Marianne Tatum (Jenny Lind in Barnum) and Rosalind Harris (Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof). Pappas' most recently directed LIBERTY, A Monumental New Musical, which played a limited engagement at Theatre 80 in New York.

The 43rd annual CAPA Summer Movie Series at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.) begins June 28, featuring 27 films over eight weeks. The series opens with Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief (June 28-30) starring Cary Grant as the reformed cat burglar searching for a copycat thief while romancing Grace Kelly who is vacationing in the sunny French Riviera.
