The Sally & Don Lucas Artists Program at Montalvo Arts Center continues its Open Access series with Open Studios at the Lucas Artists Program, where artists invite the public to visit their studios and to explore their current work and creative process. Showcasing the unique range of art produced by Lucas Artist Fellows, this year's Open Studios event will include culinary artist Andrea Blum, composer/musician Juan Felipe Waller, poet Monica Sok, playwright Preston Lane, filmmaker T. Kim-Trang Tran, and visual artist Cassils. Delicious Mexican food and beverages-including beer and wine-will be available for purchase by guests. Open Studios at the Lucas Artists Program will be presented 12pm-4pm, May 19 at Montalvo Arts Center, 15400 Montalvo Road, Saratoga. Admission is free. Music overflowing with the elegance and grace of four masterful French composers fills the program when the Brevard Symphony Orchestra presents The French Connection on Today, January 21, 2017, at the King Center for the Performing Arts in Melbourne. Gabriel Faure's sweetly somber Pavane opens the concert, followed by one of the most famous works for cello and orchestra - the First Cello Concerto by Camille Saint-Saens. Rising star Cicely Parnas makes her BSO debut with this tuneful showpiece. After intermission, two suites originally composed for piano are heard in their orchestral versions - Claude Debussy's charming Petite Suite is a setting of four miniature tone pictures. Maurice Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin salutes not just the great French Baroque master Francois Couperin - but also serves as a musical tribute to friends and colleagues of Ravel's who were lost during World War I.

The Jewish Museum continues its fall 2016 slate of lectures, discussions, and events in November with Wish You Were Here: Golda Meir portrayed by award-winning actress Tovah Feldshuh, in conversation with the Jewish Museum's Jens Hoffmann; and noted architect and critic Kenneth Frampton discussing the Maison de Verre (The Glass House), Pierre Chareau's signature building in Paris.
