He was born and raised in Manhattan and is a graduate of LaGuardia HS for the Performing Arts, Hunter College, and the Florida State University/Asolo MFA conservatory. Ron was the head of customer care and community for Backstage Magazine. Ron was called the "next Dustin Hoffman" by award-winning Shakespearean actor Roger Rees and was one of "Twelve Superior Actors" hailed by Terry Teachout of the Wall Street Journal for work in the Asolo Rep's production of 12 Angry Men. Ron lives in Harlem with his wife and their pet rabbits.

THE MAR VISTA Opens Tonight
The Mar Vista: In Search of My Mother's Love Life opens tonight, Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Ford Foundation Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 W 42nd St). The Mar Vista is a comical and heartbreaking new play created by award-winning Brooklyn-based playwright/choreographer Yehuda Hyman. At the center of the story is the bond between Hyman and his mother, Sara, a strong-willed, very funny, and deeply romantic Russian-Jewish woman with a colorful and mysterious past.

Nothing in the press release prepared me for the power and beauty of THE MAR VISTA, an ambitious autobiographical theater-dance piece by Brooklyn-based Yehuda Hyman which ranges over four countries on two continents in 90 years. This is no one's fault (though a tissue alert would have been nice), as the collaboration between Hyman's Mystical Feet Company and LABA: The Laboratory of Jewish Culture does not lend itself to neat description. A brief review of Hyman's artistic background--choreographer, playwright, poet, translator of poetry, and teacher of dance at Sarah Lawrence (from which he earned his M.F.A), Princeton, NYU, Barnard, and USC, among others-would best, perhaps, indicate the play's epic sweep, both emotionally and historically.

Yehuda Hyman's 'Mar Vista (Spanish for 'view of the sea') is a presentation of his Mystical Feet Company, a warm and poignant remembrance of his parents, two seemingly mismatched misfits who found each other. I wasn't sure what to expect when I entered the 14th Street Y on Sunday, June 14, 2015, but I came away pleasantly surprised. What I expected to be an over-the-top evening of raw emotions turned out to be a passageway to the heart of one very special individual, namely Yehuda Hyman
