February 2020 Lineup Announced At Birdland Jazz Club And Birdland Theater
Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater are pleased to present the schedule for the month of February! At Birdland Jazz Club, catch the iconic Lionel Hampton Big Band Featuring Jason Marsalis, current GRAMMY nominee Catherine Russell, the Birdland debut of AGUAS Trio with Omar Sosa, Yilian Cañizares and Gustavo Ovalles, and iconic vocalist Jane Monheit. Internationally recognized trumpeter Rachel Therrien, the Seth Weaver Big Band, and The Voice contestant Melinda Rose Rodriguez will also be performing upstairs.
Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch, Tony DeSare & More Set for Bemelmans Bar in The Carlyle's Spring Season
The Carlyle, a Rosewood Hotel, will welcome Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch, The Brandon McCune Trio,and Tony DeSare and to Bemelmans Bar for Sunday night residencies throughout the spring 2016 season. Featuring top artists from the worlds of jazz, cabaret and Broadway alongside special unannounced guests, Sunday nights at Bemelmans Bar have become a favorite spot for a wide range of performing musicians across the city. Additionally, the classic watering hole has drawn crowds consisting of socialites, politicians, movie stars and moguls for more than five decades. MOSTLY MARCUS Extends Residency at Symphony Space's Bar Thalia
With crowds swelling at each session, MOSTLY MARCUS, the totally unique acoustic duo residency in which acclaimed NYC jazz vocalist-songwriter and two-time 2015 Best Male Vocalist Nominee MARCUS GOLDHABER strips the Great American Songbook 'to the bone' like never before, has been extended for the third time at Bar Thalia, Symphony Space's newest home for jazz. The latest extension of the monthly residency starts this Sunday, (Feb. 7) with special featured vocalist Aimee Allen, and guitarist Ron Jackson. Dates continue: March 6, April 3, May 1, and June 5.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present Broadway and television actress Linda Lavin for two very special concerts on the historic stage this past week. The show, wryly entitled 'My First Farewell Concert,' is Lavin's personal story told in songs she loves. She performed favorites from the Great American/Brazilian/Yiddish Songbooks, with Billy Stritch at the piano, Steve Bakunas on drums, Ron Affif on guitar, Tom Hubbard on bass, and special guest Aaron Weinstein on violin. Songs included were 'You've Got Possibilities,' 'No More Blues,' and a medley of songs recorded by the late, great Bobby Short. Scroll down for photos from the concert!
