The 2013 Theatre Museum Awards for Excellence were held Monday night, June 3rd, at The Players Club. Honorees at the evening's ceremony included the Distinguished Service to the Theatre Award given, posthumously, to Helen Guditis and The Theatre Arts Education Award presented to Emerson College. The evening also included a special tribute to the Palace Theater in honor of its 100th anniversary. The Palace Tribute was a trip back in time to the vaudeville era. The Theatre Museum has announced the honorees for the 2013 Theatre Museum Awards for Excellence. The mission of TheTheatre Museum is to preserve, protect, and perpetuate the legacy of the theatre,it is the first and only chartered non profit museum dedicated to the historyof Theatre. Since 1995 The Awards for Excellence have recognized individualsand organizations for their contribution to theater arts, education, theaterhistory and preservation. The 2013 Theatre Museum Awards will take place on Monday, June 3rd at 6PM at The Players Club 16 Gramercy Park, NYC.

ACT Theatre is thrilled to welcome back The Flying Karamazov Brothers (FKB) February 2 -12 in the Falls Theatre. Fresh from a year Off-Broadway, a summer in London's West End, a month in Madrid, and a weekend in Peoria, their critically incriminating show arrives just in time to warm up Seattle audiences. Family fun is rarely as tantalizingly edgy as when that troupe from of the old days of new vaudeville, The Flying Karamazov Brothers, is in town. Their return engagement of 4Play, an exploration of the rhythms shared by music, juggling and humor, is performed with the ensemble's trademark inspired lunacy and dazzling skill. And with founder Paul Magid, the sole member of the original gang still performing, sharing the stage with the youthful trio of Stephen Bent, Mark Ettinger, and Rod Kimball, there is the added charm of seeing an older mentor passing on the traditions of his art to a new generation.
